Congratulations to Christopher Chaplin & Friends
Congratulations and a huge Thank You to Christopher Chaplin and his friends
who have raised a magnificent £570 by carrying out a Sponsored Swim in aid of The Helen Rollason Heal Cancer Charity.
The event took place on Wednesday 28th May 2008 at Riverside Ice & Leisure Centre, Chelmsford.
Christopher is the son of Clare Chaplin, the Group’s Press Officer, read her story below ~ a very proud mum and quite rightly so.
A Personal Challenge
My Son, Christopher Chaplin recently set himself a personal challenge. He wanted to swim 1 mile for Charity. Unfortunately, this was not a challenge he could complete on his own (1 mile is 50 lengths). He, therefore, enlisted the assistance for four of his friends from school.
To complete 1 mile the five boys had to each swim 10 lengths of the pool at Riverside Ice and Leisure Centre.
The boys that took part and completed this challenge were (from left to right in the attached photograph) Ryan Baxter, Luke Keeble, Niall Pollinger, Mark Siddaway and Christopher Chaplin. They are all 11 years old and go to Springfield Primary School.
Between them they have managed to raise over £500 for The Helen Rollason Heal Cancer Charity.
I would like to thank the boys for taking part in this event and making Christopher's personal challenge such a success. I am very proud of all the boys and they should be very proud of what they have achieved.
I would also like to extend my thanks to the parents of the four boys that helped Christopher, for their support and encouragement on the day.

SUMMER FETE 2008
We have just held our Annual Summer Fete at Rochelle House and despite the rainy weather we had a fantastic turn out and raised a record breaking £3,524.33
We would like to thank everyone who came along to support us and helped contribute towards making this fundraising event such a huge success.
