Welcome ~ We are the Springfield Fundraising Group, part of The Helen Rollason Cancer Charity, and are based in the Parish of Springfield in Chelmsford, Essex. We are one of many groups within a Fundraising Group Network formed to raise awareness and much needed funds for this wonderful Charity.

The Helen Rollason Cancer Charity receives no Government Funding and as such relies solely on funding from local communities.

The aim of the charity is to establish a network of centres and services to offer therapeutic support for men, women and their supporters following a cancer diagnosis.

The Springfield Fundraising Group began in December 2002, initially with a handful of members namely Debbie Morley, Sue Dyke, Janet Powell and Rita Perkins. Our first event was a Coffee Morning held just before Christmas in 2002 which raised well over £200 ...... and so from little acorns big oaks began to grow. During the course of the past 9 years the group has grown from strength to strength and now boasts over 20 active committee group members with a large support network of volunteers who give their time freely to help out at the events we run.

We hold five main events a year comprising a Quiz Night, normally held in March, followed by a Summer Fete in June, a Barn Dance in October, a Pamper /Christmas Shopping Evening and a Christmas Bazaar in November. with other smaller fundraising activities being held throughout the year. Over the years we have built up an excellent reputation within the local community for staging high quality events. These events have proved to be very popular, extremely well attended and very successful!
